Registration Details for the 2024 School Year
Children ages 3 to 5 years old are welcome at the St. Martin UCC Preschool from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
EARLY LEARNING is for children 3-4 years old. Classes will focus on fun activities, social interaction and initial introductions or reinforcements of pre-academic skills. While our Early Learners will do some of the same activities as the older students, expectations for them will be on introduction to learning and making friends. Snacks and rest time are provided. Each child will need to bring a lunch with them each day.
PREKINDERGARTEN is for children 4-5 years old. Classes focus on learning social skills, sharing and friendship building in a Christ Centered environment as well as academic skills in pre-reading, numbers, shapes, colors and fine motor skills. An emphasis on physical fitness and motor skills will also be a part of each day. Snacks and rest time are provided. Each child will need to bring a lunch with them each day.

Goals for Prekindergarten Kids:
Recognize the letters of the alphabet/ capitals and lower case
Count to 20
Recognize 6 basic shapes
Recognize numerals 1-20
Recognize 8 basic colors
Recite the Pledge of Allegiance
Recite the alphabet in order
Recite the Days of the Week
Play appropriately with others, sharing toys
Wait their turn and understand line behavior
Color with a variety of colors, following directions from teacher
Write first and last name
Bow heads and recite simple prayers
Sit quietly and listen to stories

Qualified & Caring Lead Teacher
St. Martin UCC Pre-school is led by Mrs. Donna Goede, our Minister of Children & Youth. A Northwest High School graduate and lifelong resident of Jefferson County, she retired from Northwest R-1 in 2006 after serving as a teacher and counselor for almost 30 years. Her degrees include Elementary Education, Guidance, Counseling & Psychology of the Young Learner; and Evaluation of Learning Needs. She serves on the Board of CASA of Jefferson County and as Administrative Secretary on the Board of Directors of HIKE Fund, Inc. (Hearing Impaired Kids Endowment Fund) which provides hearing aids and other devices to hearing impaired children whose parents can not afford them.
Donna is proud a mom and grandmother. She loves to read and travel, especially to see her grandkids! She is also an avid seamstress and does sewing & alterations for others.
